Read her Q&A about her experience, results and what she’d say to anyone thinking of starting their own journey.
Q. What first brought you to Face the Future, and when did you begin noticing the skin concerns you'd like help with?
A. I’d had a reaction to a product which caused me to struggle with eyelid eczema on and off for quite a while. Trying to treat it then set off other skin conditions and damaged my skin barrier so my skin was getting completely unmanageable and I was fed up.
Q. Had you spoken to or visited anyone else about your skin concerns before coming to us? If so, how did your experience with us compare?
A. I’d been back and forward to the doctors and felt like I wasn’t really getting anywhere and my needs and feelings weren’t really being considered in any treatments I was offered. In contrast Katy really took the time to understand what would work best for me.
Q. Can you remember how you felt on the day of your visit? Were you feeling nervous or unsure at all?
A. I was so fed up with my skin but I was really excited to start making a difference to my skin. As soon as I walked in the door I got a warm welcome and knew I’d made a good choice.
Q. In what ways did Katy support you during your appointment?
A. She was so friendly and welcoming and really took the time to ask me questions, understand where I wanted to get to and explain everything we were going to do.
Q. What are your thoughts on the products and treatments we recommended for you?
A. It’s made such a huge difference to how I feel about my skin and myself. I’ve got such a simple and manageable routine now and as I said to Katy at one of our appointments, I don’t even think about my skin that much now as it’s in such good condition whereas before it consumed my life.
Q. Are there any other treatments you’ve heard of or are curious to explore in the future?
A. I definitely want to keep building on my skin journey and keep improving.
Q. How do you feel about your skin now?
A. So much better, even the odd spot I get now is manageable whereas before they would last ages. My skin is so much more comfortable and less reactive meaning I’m less scared to try new things.
Q. What impact has your skin journey had on you so far, emotionally, physically, or even day-to-day?
A. Same as above.
Q. Are you working towards a particular goal with your skin? Was there a special event or time frame that inspired you to start this journey?
A. My initial aim was to have my skin under control for my friend’s wedding. I was getting my make up done for the day and I wanted to be able to enjoy it and feel comfortable without worrying about my skin reacting or the make up not lasting. I’m pleased to say that goal was achieved and I’m now looking forward to continuing to work with Katy to maintain my results and find some new treatments to take it to the next level.
Q. What would you say to others would are experiencing issues with their skin but maybe nervous to reach out?
A. Go for it! The team at Face the Future are so welcoming, the clinic is lovely and it can make such a difference in how you feel.
