Fed up with dreaded lipstick teeth?
We've all been there. Whether it's the all-important first date or lunch with the in-laws. Maybe you've been out with the girls, smiled for the group picture - which was later plastered all over social media - only to discover that you had the dreaded lipstick teeth!
That awful makeup situation where you have a gorgeous lipstick you love, but no matter how careful you are, it always manages to find its way onto your teeth. Giving you that crazy 'I've been eating my makeup' look. Well, no more!I'm no makeup queen, so it's become a habit of mine to check my smile when out and about for any rouge traces of lipstick. I've often wondered if it's the lipstick itself, or if I'm just naturally rubbish with the whole makeup thing! I started to look at different brands and products and I have finally found the perfect lip product. Now, this is not a lipstick but rather a lip and cheek stain. Jane Iredale's Lip and Cheek Stain to be precise. Whereas a lipstick will offer an instant, sometimes thick, coverage the lip and cheek stain is a lot lighter and develops more naturally after you apply.
It doesn't have that thick or heavy feel and there's less of a worry if you're not the neatest when it comes to applying and re-applying. The stain absorbs and spreads onto the lips with an even colour, so it's as easy and worry free as applying a lip balm - with the added bonus of a gorgeous colour!
Whereas with a lot of lipsticks you have to find the shade that suits you, with some colours running the risk of either washing you out or making you appear a bit clown-esque. The Jane Iredale Lip and Cheek Stain is suitable for all skin types, with each shade helping to enhance your natural colour. My personal favourites are Forever Peach for my every day use and Forever Red for those evenings when I need that rock-chick look. Although I also love the Forever PinkI guess what I'm saying is every colour is good and you'll find a perfect shade for any event!Another lovely thing about the stain is it doesn't dry out your lips like a lot of other lip colour products tend to do. It's added ingredients of olive butter, avocado butter, wild rose wax and beeswax help to soften the lips and leaves you with a lovely nourished feeling. Whenever I need a colour top up, this makes me feel refreshed, rather than feeling as though I'm applying layers upon layers of makeup.
As the name suggests, you can also use this product on the cheeks as well as the lips. It's a lovely alternative to regular blushers and absorbs beautifully into the skin. Though it might feel odd at first, it doesn't leave the skin feeling sticky once it's absorbed. If you are using the stain as a blush, be careful about applying any powders over the top, as this can come out a little blotchy.I love my lip stain and I keep one in my handbag, one in my makeup bag, one at my desk and one in my jacket, I'm never too far without one. So if you're after a good alternative to a typical lipstick, then look no further. This one is sure to give you a soft, natural finish that leaves a beautiful colour and will definitely leave you with a (non-lipstick covered) smile!
